Rockfall Mesh Drape System | Double Twist Hexagonal Wire Netting

A economical barrier system for rockfall protection.

Hexagonal mesh rockfall protection is different from gabion mesh. The hexagonal mesh is a double-twisted safety net that provides greater restraint from stretching. It allows the rock to move freely inside the mesh when it is properly installed.

The double twist on the mesh also ensures that the net wont fail if one wire is cut. The installation of the wire netting, which is anchored at the top, then rolled over slopes is installed rapidly over large areas to mitigate the effects of the trajectory of small bouncing debris. For drapes to be effective, they are required to have good permanent anchor points at the top to ensure they are not ripped out when force is applied to the netting down slope from slides or rockfall, a common problem with many installations.

HESLY Double Twisted Wire Mesh is made from high quality steel wire, which is heavily galvanised to provide long term corrosion protection. An additional protective polymeric coating is also applied for meshes that are to be used in more aggressive environments, or where a longer design life is required.

Due to the characteristics of the double twist, the steel wire mesh can withstand the punching force of falling rocks and without unraveling in the event of wire breakage.
